"I love this salad. My daughter got this recipe from her boss. We have made it for several years now. It is a Huge hit at BBQ's, in fact everyone always wants a copy of the recipe.A friend sudgested I make copies of the recipe when I take it to gatherings. Great Idea! The best part about this recipe is you get a lil bit of something in every bite! That is why it is so important to cut your veggie's up into small bite size pieces. I also only use 1/4 to 1/2 cup of fresh green onions"

  1. Great broccoli salad! This one is a little different with the cauliflower and sunflower seeds from the usual broccoli salad. Just enough dressing to give flavor but not drown the veggies. I used green onions (full amount) and for the dressing fat free mayo and splenda. Oh, I also used bacon bits for the cooked bacon, I was to lazy to fry some up. :) I mixed this all up and had leftovers and it tasted better the next day even with the cheese and everything mixed in. I think the flavors just had more time to mix and develop. Thanks for posting Peace, I could eat this for desert!

  3. Made 1/2 the recipe, didn't have any red wine vinegar, so I substituted worcestershire sauce, turned out great! Will definitely be making this for potlucks this summer.

  2. 1. Use Crasins instead of grapes or raisins. 2. Slivered toasted almonds instead of sunflower seeds. 3. Cubed Mozzarella instead of Cheddar Be sure brocolli and cauliflower are completely dry before mixing.

  3. This really a good light salad. I used grapes instead of raisins and cubed the cheese instead of shredded.

I live in Colorado. It is my favorite place to be because it is where all my friends and family are.Life just would not be the same with out all of them. I work for the Nations largest retail store. Can you guess which one it is? :o)My favorite thing to do is to Laugh and to make other people laugh. I love to see their smiles. If I can make just one person smile each day then I am one happy person. Your smile is a wonderful thing. It is virtually pain free and brings so much joy to all who see it. I have learned many things in my life and I believe the most important thing I have learned is that it is the little things that make the biggest difference in your's and my life. And what better way to do it than to smile. Live ,Love, Laugh and give Peace,Love,Hope, and most of all JOY. I really dont have a favorite cook book. I like reading and taking from them all. I do have one that started all my basic cooking. The pages are worn and torn and some are missing. It is a book that a dear friends Fathers company made in the early 80's. It has recipes from all the employee's and their spouses. They were easy to make and most of all a great beginner book. I still have a few favorites I use from the book, but now it is time to pass it down.My Mom and Dad taught me and all my siblings how to do the basic in cooking. After we all grew up and went our own ways, some of us have chose to continue to cook where as others chose not to. :o) For those of us who chose to continue cooking we still call Mom and Dad for help.My Dad is the Chef in the family and may I add he is the best Chef I know!!! He makes fabulous tasting food. We will never figure out how he does it. We can take the same recipe and it never taste the same as his. He is known for his Green Chili. He can really cook up a batch of good Green Chili. We all have many stories about Dads cooking and I am sure he has many stories he could add to our's.He has given each one of us a lil secret about his Green Chili and we tell each other so we can put them secrets all together and somehow we still never seem to cook it the way Dad does. However some have came close but it is never the same. Now the Grandchildren are cooking and asking Grandpa for cooking secrets and as he gives them they share with us. WE STILL CANNOT GET IT RIGHT. :o) We have so much fun trying to get it right and sharing his secrets. I know now he is always changing his recipe and probably because he wants to stay a top and ahead of all of us. :o)
